Summer Associate Program
Beard Legal Group maintains a summer associate program which serves a dual purpose. It provides each summer associate the opportunity to participate in each of the Firm's practice areas and to evaluate which area of practice he or she is interested. It also provides the Firm with an opportunity to evaluate each summer associate's performance in order to determine whether that individual would be a good candidate for regular employment with the Firm.
The Firm recruits students from law schools throughout the nation. We seek to employ highly motivated individuals with outstanding academic, professional, and ethical backgrounds, and a willingness to assume responsibility at an early stage.
The Beard Legal Group summer associate program provides law students with an opportunity to gain valuable practical experience which supplements the theoretical approach taken in law school. In addition to conducting research projects and preparing pleadings and briefs, summer associates are encouraged to participate in all other aspects of the Firm's practice, including client and witness interviews, administrative and judicial hearings and trials, depositions, negotiations, and real estate closings.
New and Lateral Hires
Beard Legal Group also hires recent law school graduates and attorneys who have practiced in the private or public sector. The hiring of new attorneys and laterals is based upon the Firm's hiring needs and the credentials and background of the applicant.
Judicial Law Clerks
Beard Legal Group also recruits attorneys who have served, or are serving as law clerks to State and Federal Judges. We encourage applications from such individuals and afford appropriate credit to former law clerks based upon the nature of their clerkship.
